Hubby and I drove to our accountant’s office to deliver the information she needed before meeting friends for dinner.

It was early evening, and we were hungry and looking forward to seeing our friends.

The drive took longer than we anticipated, and it was further out in the country than we thought.

From there, it was another 30 minutes to the restaurant, navigating the nerve-wracking Friday night commuter traffic.

At this point, we were famished and irritable. Plus, Bill had miscalculated the distance. I was annoyed with him but held it in. No way I was going to put a damper on our night out.

Interestingly, a momentary desire to have a chilled glass of Chardonnay (my favorite wine back in the day) descended on my brain. What the…?

Upon entering the restaurant, we spotted our friends, and the weak moment passed.
