Almost everyone wants to be or feel younger, no matter your age.
I was an exerciser all my adult life. I loved running or hiking the hills in my town.
Then I retired. Uh oh. Not only that, but I moved from cool Northern California to hot Arizona to reunite with my high school sweetheart.
Exercising in the desert is quite different. Some days, I’d be out at 5:30 a.m. to avoid the scorching sun.
However, it wasn’t just the heat that got to me.
Wine and cocktails entered my life big time.
Don’t get me wrong. I wasn’t a teetotaler; I drank my entire life — but for the most part, mindfully.
I was a career woman raising two boys as a single mom and responsible for the three of us.
My boys are now grown and on their own. I’m in a lovely relationship and was ready to fully relax into retirement.
But that darn alcohol got the best of me. After a couple of years of relaxation, I realized I loved my wine and cocktails so much that I overdrank them.
