Is Your Love of Writing Overpowering Your Life, and Is It Time to Gain Control?

I caught the writing bug, and I caught it hard.

The established and successful Medium writers advised us to write every day. Not only write but publish daily. To generate a loyal following, we must adhere to that schedule.

I did that. Every day for two years, without fail. I sat my butt down and tapped away for the next two to three hours.

The best part of my journey thus far is I enjoy writing every day. My writing improved; I gained followers, claps, highlights, and comments. And online friendships with other writers.

I also made a few bucks, not that I’m in it for the money. Thank goodness. My monthly earnings wouldn’t cover our grocery bill. Still, for the most part, I’m having fun.

That’s one of the reasons to be on Earth — to have fun, live with a purpose, to feel as though we’re making a difference during our numbered days on the planet.

Neglecting friends

One problem — my friends may have felt a bit miffed that I turned down invitations to go to lunch after playing pickleball with them for two hours. Two hours seemed to be plenty of time to spend…
