Yes, Carole, I also feel this way. I retired 9 years ago and moved to another state to be with my new husband. I have made friends through pickleball yet we seldom socialize outside of our games. I made one close friend and we walked daily and now she is moving away and that will be tough. I have dear friends in my former state of CA yet am not able to get there very often now as my husband is having health issues. We must put our fear behind us and be determined to make friends or make the ones we've made into better friends. Let's take that first step. Thanks for your honesty.
